In our youth programs, our staff works closely with area schools and community groups. Our adult substance abuse program provides a spectrum of outpatient substance abuse services to help adults overcome their use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs.

Family Counseling
Family Counseling provides
client-centered mental health services to the children, families
and individuals of North King County. Our primary
counseling approach is through wrap-around services. This
approach is child-centered and family-focused; community-based
versus institutional in nature; and culturally competent.
Using this strengths-based approach, the child and caregivers
are a vital part of the treatment planning process. Family
Counseling engages with natural supports when working with the
children of the community and seeks to provide services and
support for both individuals and their families. Natural
Supports for a family can include extended family members,
community, social and spiritual connections and other helping
professions working with the family.

Loving Families
Loving Families is a new project of the Center for Human
Services. It is a relationship strengthening program for
married couples with children who are economically
disadvantaged. It is a voluntary, strength-based and culturally
relevant program. Unlike any of our current programs it is part
of a research project so couples have a 50/50 chance of
participating in free groups, family events and ongoing visits
with a Family Advocate.
