Our Family Support Department provides a safe and fun place where families and individuals can access diverse resources and learning opportunities while making community connections. Center for Human Services operates two family support centers in North King County.

Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Groups

Parents, caregivers, and children 0-5 years old are invited to come play, create, and learn during this facilitated play time. Activities include art projects, story time, singing songs, and learning to play together. Groups are free and open to children and adults of all abilities. Out-Of-School Time Program The Family Support Department provides afterschool programming for youth residents of Ballinger Homes and Green Leaf Apartments, King County Housing Authority Complexes.

Free Childcare for select programs Free childcare for families attending Family Support groups and classes. Childcare is also available for those attending Substance Abuse groups and classes at Shoreline.
On-Site & Local Resources  Clothing Exchange: At the Shoreline Family Support Center, you can exchange clothes for children ages birth to 6 years old with other parents/caregivers. Clean and gently used clothing accepted.

Computer Access: A computer is available for public use during business hours at the Shoreline Family Support Center.  Speak to a staff person on site.

Domestic Violence Support:  Contact New Beginnings at (206) 522-9472.

Free Haircuts: A limited number of vouchers for a free haircut for children 12 and under, are available each month in partnership with James Alan Salon in Shoreline.  Call Tanya at (206) 631-8836 for more information.

WIC is a nutrition program for pregnant women and children ages birth to 5 year old.  Families need to be income eligible.
Services include nutrition and breast feeding education, healthy food vouchers, referrals to other support services.
