Our Family Support Department provides a safe and fun place where families and individuals can access diverse resources and learning opportunities while making community connections. Center for Human Services operates two family support centers in North King County.

Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Groups
April 25th-June 10th
Parents, caregivers, and children 0-5 years old are invited to come play, create, and learn during this facilitated play time. Activities include art projects, story time, singing songs, and learning to play together. Groups are free and open to children and adults of all abilities. Child Passenger Safety Workshop
May 24th 2016
Join us for an educational workshop to discuss and learn more about the laws regarding Child Passenger Safety in Washington.  You will learn tricks and tips to make children comfortable and safe in the car. There will be hands on opportunities to practice the skills and schedule your personal car seat installation checkup.

Northshore Head Start Preschool Program The Northshore Head Start Program is a free program for children 3-5 years old, of low-income families or in foster/kinship care in the Northshore area. This preschool program helps prepare children for kindergarten and supports family engagement.  Applications for the 2015-2016 school year are available at the Northshore Family Center located at 18414 103rd Ave NE Bothell, WA 98011.  If you have questions or need more information call (425) 205-2004.
Out-Of-School Time Program The Family Support Department provides afterschool programming for youth residents of Ballinger Homes and Green Leaf Apartments, King County Housing Authority Complexes.

Free Childcare for select programs Free childcare for families attending Family Support groups and classes. Childcare is also available for those attending Substance Abuse groups and classes at Shoreline.
On-Site & Local Resources  Clothing Exchange: At the Shoreline Family Support Center, you can exchange clothes for children ages birth to 6 years old with other parents/caregivers. Clean and gently used clothing accepted.

Computer Access: A computer is available for public use during business hours at the Shoreline Family Support Center.  Speak to a staff person on site.

Domestic Violence Support:  Contact New Beginnings at (206) 522-9472.

Emergency Food Bags: At Shoreline & Northshore Family Centers bags of non-perishable food are available for families or individuals who are in emergency need of food.  Ask any staff member for assistance. Food bags are provided by Hopelink.

Free Haircuts: A limited number of vouchers for a free haircut for children 12 and under, are available each month in partnership with James Alan Salon in Shoreline.  Call Tanya at (206) 631-8836 for more information.

WIC is a nutrition program for pregnant women and children ages birth to 5 year old.  Families need to be income eligible.
Services include nutrition and breast feeding education, healthy food vouchers, referrals to other support services.
Provided by Public Health Seattle/King County
