On March 14th the Center for Human Services hosted a Fatherhood Fair to celebrate the dads and male role models in our children’s lives. Over 100 participants came to the event including adults and children. Workshops were provided on various parenting topics such as: family roles, communication, discipline and non-traditional fathering. Activities were provided in the family center to illustrate the importance of spending time together as a family and the positive impact an involved father has on a child. Local community resources were available as well, such as the Shoreline Fire Department, Teen Link, Changes Parent Support Network, and Apple Health. This fair was planned and implemented by representatives of different departments of CHS, including Loving Families, Family Counseling, Substance Abuse Program and the Shoreline Family Support Center. We look forward to another Fatherhood Fair in the future!
