Center for Human Services Youth Substance
Abuse treatment Program offers both Intensive Outpatient and
Outpatient programs for school, probation, diversion and self
referral clients. We also do comprehensive drug and alcohol
assessments using the Global Assessment of Individual Needs
(GAIN I). This is a standardized assessment tool used by all
youth providers contracted by King County Our program uses an
evidenced based curriculum to provide the youth with a structure
of education, information and facts about the effects of drugs
and alcohol along with skill building exercises. The group is
also exposed to experiential education to broaden their ability
to both learn and participate in a group setting.
The youth outpatient treatment meets twice
weekly along with either weekly or monthly individual sessions
depending upon a youth’s needs and submission of weekly
urinalysis testing in a safe and structured environment.
Addiction being defined as a “family
disease” it is our goal at CHS to engage the youth and the
family in the treatment process so, that all involved can learn
the skills to communicate and develop a sober support for the
youth.
