Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention
The substance abuse department's mission is to reduce/eliminate substance abuse from the lives of youth and adults in North King County and South Snohomish County. To fulfill this mission we offer prevention, intervention, and treatment services for youth and adults.
About Our Programs
Our Substance Abuse Department is dedicated to providing holistic treatment services for individuals who are harmfully involved with alcohol and/or other drugs. We provide substance abuse treatment for adults through our Shoreline Substance Abuse Program. We offer substance abuse treatment for youth through our Shoreline Substance Abuse Program, Scriber Lake STARS Program, and our Northshore Substance Abuse Program.

Our Substance Abuse Program also provides youth prevention and intervention services through our Partners in Prevention Program, our Shoreline Substance Abuse Program (ADIS) as well as our Northshore Substance Abuse Program.  See our flier for True Colors groups for LGBTQ youth.

Payment Information - CHS accepts medical coupons including GAU and eligible low-income youth and adults on a sliding fee scale. Call Roxane at ext.8831 for more details.

NIATX 200 & Clinical Supervision Infusion Project : CHS participated in the NIATX 200 Project along with 199 other providers who are administering change projects to eliminate wait times and increase admissions. This was an 18 month project sponsored by DASA, the Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment, and National Institute on Drug Abuse. Our total admissions increased by 40% in the first 4 months of this project. The Clinical Supervision Infusion Project was also sponsored by DASA to increase supervisory skills to enhance the quality of treatment by CHS staff and retain staff for longer periods of time. CHS was one of 4 providers that received training through NFATTC trained coaches. The length of this project was 7 months.
