Staff Recognition Awards
Since 2007 CHS has been recognizing their staff annually with Staff Recognition Awards.  The awards tie directly to the six core values CHS delivers all their services upon: Championing Collaboration, Providing Accessibility, Personifying Integrity, Having Fun, Embracing Diversity, and Demanding Accountability.

Staff Recognition Awards are given to deserving staff members annually who exemplify CHS Values. Staff members are nominated by their peers and selected by the CHS Board of Directors. The categories of awards correspond with each of our values. 2009 recipients are:

<
Championing Collaboration:

Rachel Clark
Lead Family Support Specialist

Rachel engages community based organizations, families, schools, and churches to effectively offer her programming.  She utilizes a professional and friendly way of approaching her relationships with community partners that puts them at ease and inspires them to look at how they can be part of her vision to promote positive youth development opportunities for our community.  Rachel balances a healthy respect for the contributions of collaborators with being a strong advocate for the mission and values of CHS.

Last Year's Recipient: Stacey De Fries

Loving Families Department Director

Providing
Accessibility:

Eddy Lau
Network Administrator
Eddy is the King of Accessibility right here on the grounds of CHS.  Eddy strives to always be accessible for staff and goes the extra mile and completes all tasks to keep our computers and phones working.  He is dedicated and committed to being accessible, even many times on his days off.

Last Year's Recipient: Vicki Carnahan

Shoreline Site Coordinator
Personifying
Integrity:

Connie Kragt
Parent Partner
for Wraparound Program
(Substance Abuse Department)

You may be asking why an employee who has only worked for CHS a few months was nominated for an award. Some of the things that we have learned about Connie in a short period of time are: you can always count on her; she follows up with families as she promises; her timeliness is exceptional, and her work ethic is extraordinary. She is trusted with valuable items and important tasks and has proven herself to be honest and ethical. Connie is always the first to point out a familys strengths. She knows how to support without compromising someone elses integrity or devaluing their contributions.

Last Year's Recipient: Jane Hinton

Family Support Department Director
Having
Fun:

David Flack
Substance Abuse Youth Counselor
Thanks for rearranging your busy personal schedule to be here tonight.  David is an excellent example of fun.  His innovative and fun methods and passion is what keeps the youth in our program engaged, learning, and completing treatment.  For example, building the tallest balloon tower ever teaches the youth problem solving skills, social skills, thought processing, and much more.

Last Year's Recipient: Jerry Evergreen
Family Counseling Department Director
Embracing
Diversity:

Velia Lara
Family Support Specialist
Velia's Friday Play and Learn Group consists of participants from many different cultural, ethnic, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds.  It takes a very welcoming, outgoing, open and trustworthy person to be able to facilitate multi-cultural and multi-lingual programs.  She shows a desire to learn more about the families we serve and their stories and builds relationships with all families based on the foundation of trust and respect.  Velia is a quality bi-lingual facilitator that manages to promote an environment of inclusion, never isolating anyone.

Last Year's Recipient - Morgan Moore
Family Support Specialist
Demanding
Accountability:

Tanya Bowen
Quality Improvement Coordinator for Loving Families Seldom does one persons contributions to a team completely change the way things are run; Tanya is such a person. She is a whiz at finding mistakes that have been made and not making anyone feel bad. She has transformed Loving Families customer service. Loving Families could not function without her tireless efforts to help staff understand and utilize data.
