What is
Loving Families?
A program
that helps couples’ strengthen their marriages so they will be
strong parents and raise successful children.
Couples
benefit from:
-
Building
skills that are essential to a healthy, stable marriage,
such as communication, managing stress, resolving conflict,
and parenting as a team
-
Time
together as a couple – the program provides free on-site
child care!

A fun,
supportive atmosphere where they can meet other married
couples make friends
-
Access
to a wide range of support services, and staff who can help
couples connect to resources
Through participation in Loving Families, couples will:
-
Participate in a community group with other couples 1 time a
week for 12 weeks

Build a
relationship with a Family Advocate who will work in
partnership with them to match them with additional supports

Have
access to free child care during groups and help with
transportation, as well other gifts to recognize their
participation in the program.
Loving
Families is part of a research project, so interested couples
have a 50/50 chance of receiving services. Even if they don’t
get in, they can still participate in the study, and are given a
monetary stipend for their time.
Who can
participate?
Loving
Families has a specific target audience:

Married
couples, 18 years or older
-
The
couple has children living in their home, or is expecting
their first child.

Both
members of the couple are able to communicate fluently in
English and or Spanish
How much
does it cost?
It’s free!
And couples receive free childcare, transportation vouchers and
other gifts that recognize their participation.
